A sniper of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down an enemy ZALA drone. The occupiers' drone was reconnaissance in one of the frontline areas, but now it will be sent to specialists for further examination.

This was reported by the press service of the Special Operations Forces on March 10. A photo of the downed UAV was also released.

The military said that the drone was spotted by the SOF operators in one of the operational areas.

He was conducting aerial reconnaissance of the area.

"The sniper confirmed his qualifications, the UAV became a trophy of the Special Operations Forces and will be further studied by specialists," the Special Operations Forces said.

ZALA is a Russian helicopter and airplane-type UAV manufactured in Izhevsk by ZALA AERO GROUP. They are mostly small in size, but there is also an airplane model with a wingspan of 6 meters and a range of up to 120 km.

After Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Zala Aero Group increased production and sells drones worth billions of rubles to the Russian Armed Forces. According to Russian media, the company imports Western components, using intermediary companies from Uzbekistan and other countries to circumvent sanctions.

The Zala Aero Group itself, as well as its owner Alexander Zakharov and his family members, are subject to Western sanctions.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 41 operational and tactical UAVs were destroyed in Ukraine over the past day.

In addition, the Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized 312 enemy drones of various types in the Tauride sector.
