Budanov says Russian losses near Avdiivka have increased dramatically over the past week

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that Russian troops' losses in the area of Avdiivka in the Donetsk region have increased significantly in recent weeks. However, he did not provide specific figures.
Budanov made the statement in a commentary to the British newspaper Financial Times. According to the newspaper, US intelligence estimates that since the start of the Russian offensive on Avdiivka in October 2023, the enemy has lost more than 13,000 people and 220 combat vehicles.
However, according to Budanov, these numbers have increased significantly in recent weeks. He noted that he could not give an exact number.
"Ukraine has a strong defensive position around the industrial city, where a large coke plant is located," he said.
