Bakhmut stands on a mountain, taking it is not as easy as it looks on the map: VSU military officer Voloshchenko 'Stone' responds to 'zrada'
Ukrainian defender Stone reported on the situation in the Bakhmut direction. He noted that it was not easy for the Russians to occupy the city because of its geographical position.
Voloshchenko "Stone" told this in an interview with OBOZREVATEL editor-in-chief Orest Sokhar. In addition, the military advised against trusting the maps of events from Bakhmut, because "everything is not as simple as on the map".
"They are throwing regular troops with artillery support into our areas. They've already realised that they can't just do that. So the tactic was to pelt these fools with bodies, but they have such an opportunity to run out," he said.
The fighter added that the Russian army had a goal of taking Bakhmut by the end of February, but now the weather is playing in our favour, so the invaders are failing.
"Bakhmut is now a force they cannot crack, even with everything looming over us. They are moving towards the plane, but I will tell you one secret that they cannot get through to the plane. The aeroplane is the south gate of Bakhmut, that is the entrance from Konstantinovka to Bakhmut. There is such a MIG-17 standing there, and they want to get to it and take selfies, but so far their zoom doesn't allow it because our defenders put them there," Stone said.
The soldier added that the drawings on the experts' maps look quite threatening, but they should not be trusted. The occupiers cannot take the city because it is on a mountain - this makes it much more difficult for them.
The full interview will be published on OBOZREVATEL on 6 February.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, reports have been circulating online in recent days about the alleged withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Bakhmut in Donetschina, and the Russians are already celebrating the "encirclement" of the city. However, the Eastern Group of Forces has denied these fakes.
