AFU successfully repulsed Russian attacks in the east and continues counteroffensive in the south: 22 clashes - General Staff

Fighters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have successfully repelled attacks by Russian occupants in the east. The soldiers continue their counter-offensive in the south. There have been 22 military clashes over the past 24 hours.

This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff of the AFU as of 18:00 on September 4. According to the data received, during the day the enemy has made 5 missile and 68 air strikes, made 42 shelling from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and settlements.

"Russian terrorist attacks have unfortunately resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. Residential houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed. The likelihood of missile and air strikes across the entire territory of Ukraine remains high," the statement said.

- The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged.

- In the Siversky and Slobozhansky sectors, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 15 localities, including Karpovychi, Prohres in Chernihiv region, Nova Huta, Romashkove, Buhir, Malushyne in Sumy region and Udy, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Hatyshche, Ohirtseve, Ternova in Kharkiv region.

- In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Budarky, Kharkiv region. More than 10 localities came under artillery fire, including Figolivka, Dvorichna, Kindrashivka, Synkivka, Kyslivka in Kharkiv region.

- In the Liman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Novoyehorivka and Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region. It carried out air strikes in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region, Yampolivka and Spirne, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under enemy artillery fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Spirne, Rozdolivka, Serebryanka, Verkhnekamianske in Donetsk region.

- In the Bakhmut sector, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops in the area north of Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike near Ivanivske in the Donetsk region. More than 15 localities came under enemy artillery fire, including Minkivka, Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Chasiv Yar, Bila Hora, and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.

- In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Avdiivka. He fired with artillery and mortars at the localities of Oleksandropil, Novokalynove, Keramik, Avdiivka, Severne, Pervomayske in Donetsk region.

- In the Mariinka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Mariinka, Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. The localities of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Gostre, Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.

- In the Zaporizhzhya sector, the enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Orikhov, Robotyno, Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhya region. More than 15 localities came under artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Olhivske, Zaliznychne, Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne, Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region.

- In the Kherson sector, the enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Tyahyntsi and Molodizhne. Burhunka, Kherson region, came under artillery and mortar fire.
