AFU is making efforts to deplete the enemy's potential, with 98 military clashes at the front during the day - General Staff

On Thursday, August 1, 98 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Russian occupation forces took place on the battlefield in Ukraine. The army of the aggressor state continues to actively attack in Pokrovsk and Toretsk directions, and the enemy has also intensified its attacks in Orikhiv direction.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 22:00. It emphasized that defense forces are making efforts to disrupt the plans of the Russian occupiers and deplete their combat potential.

In the Kharkiv sector, the invaders unsuccessfully stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the areas of Tykhyi and Vovchansk three times. Another battle is underway near Vovchansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops' fortifications six times in the areas of Andriivka, Stelmakhivka and Pishchane. They were unsuccessful.

In the Lyman sector, Russian troops stormed the positions of the defense forces four times near Torske and Makiivka.

In the Kramatorsk sector, five attempts by the invaders to advance near Chasovyi Yar, Ivanivske and Andriivka failed.

In the Siversk sector, our troops stopped nine enemy attempts to improve their tactical position near Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Ivanodariivka and Vyimka. The occupants suffered losses. Another battle near Vyimka is ongoing.

In the Toretsk sector, the occupants attacked 16 times in the areas of Zalizne, Pivnichne, Toretsk and Nw York. Fighting continues in four locations. The enemy is putting pressure, trying to advance in the areas of New York and Pivnichne.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 43 offensive actions. The occupants were most active in the areas of Novooleksandrivka, Prohres and Zhelanne. Six combat engagements in the sector are still ongoing.

According to preliminary estimates, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 92 occupants and wounded 135. Two vehicles and a D-30 cannon were destroyed. Four enemy vehicles, 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled artillery systems and BM-21 Grad MLRS were also eliminated.

Four combat engagements took place in the Kurakhove sector. Russian terrorists unsuccessfully tried to advance in the vicinity of Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivsk sector, the battle near Vodiane resulted in the enemy's defeat.

The enemy became more active in the Orikhivsk sector, where they conducted two attacks near Robotyne and Mala Tokmachka during the day. They were unsuccessful.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, an enemy assault on the left bank of the Dnipro failed.
