For the first time, Ukraine has used American M1 Abrams tanks in the battles in the Kursk Region. A video of this equipment was shot near Novoivanovka in the Korenevsky district.
Meanwhile, the Russians advanced in the fields south of Sheptukhovka, Korenevsky district, while Ukrainian soldiers counterattacked near Zeleny Shlyakh, Novoivanovka, and Lyubimovka. The situation in Kursk Region was described by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts noted that according to geolocation footage from October 21, the Russians recently advanced in the northern part of the bulge in the Kursk Region – in the fields south of Sheptukhovka (southeast of Korenevo). They achieved the advance during two mechanized assaults.
To the southeast of Korenevo, according to Russian sources, there was intense fighting, with Ukrainian forces counterattacking near Zeleny Shlyakh, Novoivanovka, and Lyubimovka.
It also became known that Ukrainian forces used M1 Abrams tanks for the first time in the Kursk region during attacks near Novoivanovka. This was reported by both Ukrainian and Russian sources. Russian publics, in particular, published a video showing Abrams firing. The Russians tried to explain the use of American tanks by the Ukrainians' desire to "moderate the successful counter-offensive of the Russian military in this direction."
A Russian Z-blogger also claimed that the fighting was taking place in the Glushkovsky district – near Novy Put.
Units of the Russian 137th Airborne Regiment (106th Airborne Division), the 1434th Akhmat-Chechnya Regiment, and the 155th Marine Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet are known to be operating near Lyubimovka.
And southeast of Suja, units of the 11th Airborne Troops Brigade are involved.
In general, Russia has also engaged units of the 810th Independent Marine Infantry Brigade of the Black Sea Fleet, the 83rd Brigade, and the 56th Airborne Regiment in the Kursk region.
