Ukraine will receive Slinger anti-drone systems manufactured by the Australian company Electro Optic Systems. They are capable of shooting down helicopters and kamikaze drones.

This will contribute to meeting critical security and defense needs. This statement was made by EOS executive vice president Matt Jones.

The company has been testing the systems for three weeks near Sydney. The system was based on the M230LF 30mm cannon and MAG58 7.62mm machine gun and is mounted on a GMC Denali pickup truck.

"This technology is coming to Ukraine. The Slinger hard-hit system was acquired by the US as a gift to Ukraine. The laser technology is still under development, so it is not being used at this time," Jones said.

According to him, the war in Ukraine demonstrated that drones of any type can be encountered in future conflicts. Slinger can counteract many targets, including cheap reconnaissance drones that report troop movements in real-time and improvised kamikaze drones equipped with small explosive devices, such as Iran's Shahed 136 drones, which are widely used by Russian forces.

It should be noted that the Slinger system is capable of tracking and pinpointing moving drones at a distance of more than 800 meters, using a unique munition that makes it suitable for use in urban environments.

The Ukrainian military received the AUDS system in July. It is designed to counter unmanned aerial vehicles in the air.
