The aggressor country Russia attacked the Ukrainian capital Kyiv with Shahed kamikaze drones all night and into the morning. As a result of the falling wreckage of the downed targets, a gas pipe was depressurized and a fire broke out in a high-rise building, damaging dozens of cars.

This was reported by Mayor Vitaliy Klychko and the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko. They both warned that the alert continues and that people should stay in shelters.

According to them, the incident occurred in the Pechersk district of the city. Preliminarily, the fire broke out on the first floor of a five-story residential building. Emergency services were sent to the scene.

Later, the KCMA clarified that a gas pipe had been depressurized and then caught fire as a result of an air attack by Russian drones.

"Kyivgaz has been urgently called to the scene. We are conducting reconnaissance," Popko said.

For his part, Klychko added that the incident preliminarily resulted in no injuries.

In addition, about 20 cars were damaged. Also, the drone fragments fell on the territory of a kindergarten.

There was information about an injured child who was hospitalized with numerous cut wounds. However, Serhiy Popko noted that the information was not confirmed - the child was not injured as a result of the UAV attack.

According to the KCMA, the Air Defense Forces recorded that more than a dozen enemy drones were heading in the direction of the capital. Combat operations in Kyiv's airspace on its outskirts lasted for five hours. About a dozen drones were shot down.

Rescuers extinguished a fire on the first floor of a five-story residential building in the Pechersk district. The State Emergency Service added that in addition to damaging about 20 parked cars, windows in four other residential buildings nearby were damaged.
