Russian occupiers announced a new target after Vuhledar: what is it about

The next target of the Russian occupiers after the capture of Vuhledar in Donetsk region is the village of Bohoyavlenka, west of the occupied city. The enemy is moving towards the village from two sides and is "making progress" because the ratio of forces and means differs significantly.

This was reported in Telegram by military journalist Bohdan Myroshnykov. He suggested that Bohoyavlenka "can be held for some time to gain time for the next lines of defense" if no serious mistakes are made.

"And the main thing is to prevent a rapid advance to Uspenivka, which will form a left-flank (enemy) pincer for Kurakhove. Because on the other flank of the city, the situation in Izmailivka and near Ostrovske is very difficult," the journalist said.

Miroshnykov's prediction was confirmed by the Russian military resource "Two Majors." They called Bohoyavlenka "the next logical target". It is also noted that fighting is currently ongoing between Katerynivka and Vodyane.

According to Ukrainian military blogger and volunteer Oleh Petrenko, the enemy has advanced to a depth of 1.5 km northwest of Vuhledar, along the forest belt. It is obvious that the occupiers will press in the direction of Bohoyavlenka and attack with maneuverable groups along the Berestova gully. The goal is to stretch the forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

– On October 2, the Defense Forces officially confirmed the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Vuhledar. The decision was made due to the threat of encirclement of the city and to preserve personnel and military equipment.

– Commenting on the situation with the retreat of Ukrainian defenders from Vuhledar, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that human safety is the highest priority. The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine needs permission to strike with long-range weapons so that it does not have to retreat.

– Military expert Vladyslav Selezniov believes that sooner or later Russian reserves and resources in Donbas will run out. Because in four directions, the occupiers are throwing not only a huge number of personnel, but also vehicles, weapons, and equipment onto Ukrainian soil. To use a football term, it feels like a "last-ditch foul."
