On the evening of Friday, October 25, Russia staged another drone attack against Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Kyiv and the region, and air defense systems were working. An enemy drone hit a high-rise building, damaging apartments on the 17th, 18th, and 19th floors. Five people were injured, one person died.

The explosions in the capital occurred around 21:00, OBOZ.UA journalists reported. The Kyiv City Military Administration noted that the explosions were related to the work of air defense against the occupiers' drones.

Later, they clarified that a fire broke out in an apartment building in the Solomianskyi district as a result of a Russian drone attack. Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko also wrote that a Shahed had hit a residential building.

"The upper floors of the high-rise building that was hit by an enemy drone in the Solomianskyi district are burning. Emergency services are at the scene," said the mayor.

"According to preliminary information, several apartments on the upper floors of the residential building in Solomianskyi district were damaged. A fire broke out. Information about the consequences and victims is being clarified," the administration reported.

Later, the city authorities reported that more than 100 people had been evacuated from the affected building.

"There are already five injured. One of them was hospitalized, four were treated on the spot. Preliminary, one person died," the mayor of Kyiv said.

The wreckage of the downed UAVs also fell in an open area in Shevchenkivskyi district. Preliminary, there were no casualties.

"In the evening, the enemy staged another attack on Kyiv. As a result, apartments on the 17th, 18th and 19th floors of a 25-storey residential building were partially damaged, followed by a fire on the 16th and 17th floors. The fire is currently being localized. 43 rescuers and 11 units of fire and other equipment are involved at the scene," the SES reported.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine warned that as of 21:00, Shahed drones were spotted in Kyiv region heading for the capital, as well as in Chernihiv region heading west.

The Kyiv Regional Military Administration also noted that UAVs were spotted in the region and that air defense units were working.

"Kyiv region. A UAV was spotted in the airspace. Air defense forces are working on targets. Stay in shelters until the end of the air raid alert. Take care of your own safety," the message reads.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the night of October 25, Russia launched its 15th air attack on Kyiv since the beginning of the month. The enemy used only attack drones, but all of them - about a dozen and a half - were destroyed.
