Russian army suffers acute shortage of human resources - Hodges

The aggressor state of Russia is using conscripts to deter the offensive of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the Kursk region despite promises that they would not take part in hostilities. This indicates an acute shortage of human resources in the Russian army.

This opinion was expressed by Lieutenant General Ben Hodges, former commander of the U.S. Army in Europe, in a commentary to CBC News. He reminded that the Russians have already lost thousands of experienced commanders in the war.

"It seems like they're just trying to do more and more of the same, and certainly they will have lost thousands of experienced troops and leaders that are now being replaced by those who are not as well trained or experienced," Hodges said.

The American lieutenant general also noted that Russia cannot replace not only the wounded and killed on the battlefield, but also the equipment lost in the battles.

""I have not seen much in the way of major changes or innovation on the Russian side," the general emphasized.

As previously reported, Russia is sending conscripts from almost all Russian regions to the Kursk region en masse. In an attempt to hold back the Ukrainian offensive, the Russian dictator has once again broken his promises as he has repeatedly claimed that conscripts will not be sent to war.

A Russian soldier fighting against Ukraine complained that the leadership wants to send all the survivors of his battalion to assault groups. And there are not many of them - no more than fifty people, including the sick and refuseniks.

As reported, as of August 22, 2024, Russia's total manpower losses in the war against our country amounted to 604,140. The Ukrainian Defense Forces neutralized about 254 units of enemy weapons and equipment and about 1130 Russian army servicemen yesterday.
