The aggressor country Russia continues to amass troops on the border a few tens of kilometers from the area of the current offensive in the Kharkiv region. Obviously, the enemy is preparing for another attack.

This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a video address to world leaders on the eve of the Peace Summit, which was filmed against the backdrop of a printing house in Kharkiv destroyed by a Russian strike. It was published by the President's press service on Sunday, May 26.

"It is Russia that is the only source of aggression and is constantly trying to expand the war. These days, we are defending ourselves 60 kilometers northeast of the site of another Russian offensive," the president said.

In particular, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are currently repelling the occupiers near Vovchansk and Lyptsi, where they have been advancing since May 10. At the same time, Zelenskyy says, the enemy is preparing for new offensives near this place.

"Another group of Russian troops is gathering near the border 90 kilometers to the northwest. Whoever is doing all this does not want peace," he explained.

This was also reported by analysts of the Institute for War Studies in their May 25 report. First of all, they emphasized that Ukrainian units are increasingly seizing the tactical initiative in the north of Kharkiv region, where the occupiers' operations have become more defensive. At the same time, they added that Russia is trying to bring its Northern Group of troops closer to the planned number (50-70 thousand) and is likely to launch a new stage of the offensive in the Kharkiv region.

According to military experts, the occupiers prematurely resorted to a "breakthrough" in the north of the Kharkiv region because they were in a hurry to "achieve success" before the Ukrainian Defense Forces received new American military assistance.

As reported, Armed Forces Reserve Major Oleksii Hetman calls an offensive by the Russian army in the Sumy region very likely. He assumes that the enemy will either attack the border in small groups or try to create bridgeheads there, just like in the Kharkiv region.
