Residents of Sudzha were shown a movie about the crimes of Russians in Bucha

The new Ukrainian documentary film "On the Other Side of the Peace" about the crimes of the Russian occupiers in Bucha, created by a team of Territorial Defense Forces, was shown to the residents of Russian Sudzha. Their reaction to the truth was filmed. This is how another documentary was created – how the truth about the war is perceived in Russia.

This was done by the journalists of "Ukrainian Witness." They, together with the Ukrainian military, talked to the townspeople and found out their opinion about the war, which is beginning to return to the residents of the aggressor country.

After the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered Sudzha, many locals remained in the town. According to them, no one evacuated the Russians, and the authorities simply left them to their fate.

"Loknya, Sverdlikovo, Lebedevka – we are sitting without electricity and water. We have been abandoned, we are now like missing persons. We are grateful that the Ukrainian army is helping us. Because Ukrainians are normal people," says one of the local residents.

As you know, the Russian Federation has called the stories about the executions and torture of civilians by the Russian military in Bucha fake news and imprisoned people for spreading such information. Not surprisingly, people in Sudzha did not know what their war criminals were doing in Ukraine.

And when they found out after watching "The Other Side of Peace," they started crying and asked for water.

According to Sudzha residents, if such films are shown throughout Russia, something might change, but people are confident that the current regime will "never show such a thing under any circumstances."

According to local residents, Russian propaganda told them that in neighboring Lebedevka, Ukrainians had driven civilians into a local club and set them on fire.

But even despite their own experience of living during the fighting, the residents of Sudzha are convinced that the Russian-Ukrainian war is a "game of politicians" who "do not play while ordinary people suffer."

– ISW noted that the offensive operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region is forcing Russia to redeploy forces from the Ukrainian front. The next stages of hostilities on the territory of the Russian Federation are likely to require the Kremlin to deploy additional forces (approximately 20 thousand) and means in the area, which is beneficial for Ukraine.

– Former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, former Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko believes that Ukraine's position has strengthened as a result of the successful military operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of Russia. The image of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has been undermined.

– Pavlo Lakiichuk, Head of Security Programs at the Center for Global Studies "Strategy XXI", believes that the occupiers' offensive in the Donetsk sector and the Kursk operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Russia are a confrontation of nerves. This situation is a game of raising the stakes. Who will be the first to make a political decision to change the strategy.
