Peace summit will not take place in November: the Presidential Office provided details
The second Peace Summit announced earlier for the end of this fall will not take place in November. However, everything should be ready for its further holding by November.
Conferences on each point of the "Peace Formula" are currently underway. This was stated by Daria Zarivna, advisor to the head of the Presidential Office, whose team is responsible for the preparation and key documents of the conferences, in a commentary to the Telegraph.
Despite the fact that November of this year was previously called the likely time for the second Global Peace Summit, the event will not take place in the last month of fall 2024. However, by November, preparations for its organization should be completed.
According to Zarivna, this work is currently underway, including conferences on each point of the "Formula for Peace."
"The Second Peace Summit will not take place in November. But everything should be ready for its preparation. So far, thematic conferences are being held on each point of the Formula, which end with the adoption of communiqués. The main provisions of these communiqués will form the basis for the future peace plan of the Second Summit," emphasized the advisor to the Presidential Administration.
Zarivna added that the last thematic conference is scheduled for October 30-31 in Canada. It will focus on humanitarian issues: the release of prisoners of war, civilian hostages, and the return of children. This conference completes the entire process.
As a reminder, in late September, before his visit to the United States, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine was ready to see Russia at the second Peace Summit. Not least because all of Ukraine's allies insisted that the aggressor be included in this event, as our country cannot end the war on its own.
The Head of State is skeptical about Russia's real readiness to end the war. On the contrary, he believes that Moscow wants to continue fighting. However, its involvement in the Peace Summit will force the Kremlin to come up with "reasons" not to agree to the specific steps envisaged by the Peace Formula.
