DIU names those involved in the Russian Maidan-3 discrediting campaign: counterintelligence measures continue
Russian politician, former aide to the Kremlin dictator Vladislav Surkov and First Deputy Head of the Russian Presidential Administration Sergey Kiriyenko are involved in the discrediting campaign of the aggressor country codenamed Maidan-3. The operation against Ukraine also involves collaborators who have sided with the occupiers.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Andrii Yusov. On March 1, he spoke about it on the air of the United News TV marathon.
The aggressor spent about 1.5 billion dollars on Maidan-3. Moscow considers such an investment to be profitable as it is already spending huge amounts of money on a full-scale war.
"These are not new methods," Yusov said. When asked by the host what Ukrainians would see at the peak of this campaign, he replied, "Betrayal, shame and many other words that we all know well, which will be used in different contexts. These are attempts to disrupt mobilization activities, attempts to delegitimize the decisions of the Ukrainian authorities and generally undermine the situation inside the country and in our international coalition."
"As for specific names, it is Kiriyenko and Surkov. It is clear that all the collaborators-traitors who are currently being sheltered by Muscovites will be involved in this in one way or another," the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine added.
Ukrainian intelligence also has the names of people who are now in our country and can act as "objects of influence." "This does not mean that they have already given their consent. This information is being checked and clarified," Yusov said.
He emphasized that counterintelligence activities are ongoing and will not stop.
As part of the Maidan-3 campaign, the enemy is massively buying and creating new Telegram channels and bot farms that amplify Russian rhetoric on social media.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Bloomberg that the ultimate goal of Moscow's Maidan-3 operation is to remove the current political authorities.
