Danilov commented on the pace of the AFU counteroffensive and explained how the F-16 jets will change the situation on the battlefield

The secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksiy Danilov has stressed that the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which started in June, is going according to the approved plan. He explained that it is a complicated operation because the Russian occupants are well prepared.

He said this in an interview with Radio Svoboda. Danilov noted that the advance of the Ukrainian defenders is taking place in a way that is now possible.

"The counter-offensive is taking place according to the plan that was approved. This is a very complex operation. If someone thinks that this is an easy walk and that you can achieve the goal of liberating territories very quickly, keep in mind that the enemy is powerful and has a certain system of defense and defensive structures that he was able to build there", he said.

According to the Secretary, the main condition for offensive actions is to keep the maximum number of our military alive and unharmed.

"Therefore, it goes hard, but every day we step forward to the liberation of all our territories," he added.

Furthermore, he added that the Western F-16 fighter jets will be used as much as possible by the Ukrainian defenders and this will change the situation on the front significantly.

"As soon as the pilots pass the appropriate certification, they will be in our skies. F-16s will be in Ukraine shortly. I can't tell you the date, it can be tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Procedures of appropriate training are taking place. They will be in our sky. Then there will already be a certain parity. As soon as F-16 appears and will be used by our AFU to the maximum, believe me, the situation will radically change before our eyes," Danilov emphasized.

He added that Ukraine will fight until it liberates all its territory.

"We have a war going on. It brings its adjustments every day. I am more than sure that until we liberate all our territory. We will not stop," the Secretary of the Security Council summarized.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukrainian soldiers are advancing in several directions. The advance is very difficult, primarily because of the fields densely mined by the Russians.
