A series of explosions occurred in Mariupol, occupants' air defense system could have been under attack

In the temporarily occupied Mariupol, on August 23, at about 13:07, there were reports of arrivals. It is preliminarily reported that the occupiers' air defense system was hit.

This was reported by the Mariupol City Council and the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andriushchenko, on their social media channels. Residents of the city wrote about the sounds of explosions and smoke in Telegram channels.

At the same time, the occupiers reported that missiles were flying to Crimea.

According to Andriushchenko, there were at least 7 explosions in the city. Occupation publics immediately began to write that the sounds of explosions were the work of Russian air defense.

"Preliminary damage to air defense systems in the triangle of Mariupol (Livoberezhnyi/Kalmiuskyi) – Nikolske – Mangush. More details to follow. The Russians will try to dispel the air defense story. They are lying. Air defense was not working. Several sources confirm the facts of arrivals on the ground simultaneously," said the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol.

Earlier it was reported that in the Mariupol district temporarily occupied by the Russian army, a drone attacked the occupiers' military training ground. As a result, 15 Russian soldiers were injured.

As a reminder, on the afternoon of August 13, "cotton" came to Russian-occupied Mariupol. Two explosions occurred in the Central district in the direction of Nikolske.
