A Russian lieutenant general who "distinguished himself" during the seizure of Crimea was liquidated near Berdyansk - mass media

Another Russian general liquidated in Zaporizhia

A Russian lieutenant general, Oleg Tsokov, was liquidated in the south of Ukraine. He was "denazified" near the temporarily occupied Berdyansk, Zaporozhye region, on July 11.

This was reported by the Telegram channel "Cargo 200." The liquidated occupant had once distinguished himself during Russia's seizure of Ukrainian Crimea.

"Today in the south, near Berdyansk, Russian Lieutenant General Oleg Yuryevich Tsokov was liquidated," the report noted.

The information about the liquidation of Tsokov is also confirmed by the sources of the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol Peter Andryushchenko. He recalled that in September last year, the occupant had already almost gone to the other world.

"It is reported that today in the area of Berdyansk, Russian Lieutenant General Tsokov Oleg Yurievich was liquidated. In September 2022, he had already been trisotilized, but he survived. Now they say that the graveilization has been made final," Andryushchenko wrote.

Then, in September, Tsokov was wounded during the shelling of Ukrainian troops near the locality of Svatovo. The occupant was evacuated from the combat zone on September 20. Russian propagandists assured that he had allegedly been treated in St. Petersburg for a leg wound.

According to the AFU General Staff, which was made public after the news about Tsokov's injury, he was then the commander of the 144th motorized rifle division of the 20th Combined Arms Army. Russian propagandists assured that at the time of his injury, the general was already in command of the 20th Army: he had allegedly been promoted back in the summer.

At the same time, the Russian Wikipedia, which promptly updated Tsokov's page with a notice that he was "killed by AFU terrorists near Berdyansk, Ukraine, on July 11, 2023," disagrees with the propagandists. The article on Tsokov notes that he became commander of the 144th Division in August 2022.

The occupier's "record" includes participation in two Russian-Chechen wars, "business trips" to Syria and, of course, armed aggression against Ukraine, from its very beginning in 2014. In particular, he took part in the occupation of the Crimean peninsula by Russia, for which he received the so-called medal "For the return of Crimea".

Also among the awards of the occupier with big stars on the epaulettes are the Order of Zhukov, three orders of courage, the Order "For Military Merit" and an impressive list of medals, including for the killings of Syrians.

On December 13, 2022, because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Tsokov was placed under sanctions by Britain and New Zealand as being involved in missile strikes on Ukrainian cities. Prior to that, on October 19, he was placed on the Ukraine sanctions list.On February 25, 2023, he was placed on the sanctions list of all EU countries for "participation in Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.

On February 25, 2023, he was put on the sanctions list of all EU countries for "participation in Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine".

How exactly the occupier was liquidated has not been reported yet.

We recall that earlier it became known that a Serbian mercenary, who fought against Ukraine, was liquidated near Bakhmut. The militant Uros Prvulovich was in the ranks of the PMC "Wagner" since 2022, although he fought against Ukraine since 2015 as part of the terrorist group "DPR". In particular, he took part in combat operations near Debaltsevo, and was also a member of the "Union of Donbass Volunteers".

The occupant was liquidated back on April 28 near Bakhmut. But his body was found only at the end of June.
