Jaroslawa Mahuchikh speaks out about Russians

Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh called the Russians' statements that her patriotic stance and condemnation of Russia are not related to the war stupid. The 23-year-old track and field athlete, in particular, responded in this way to the opinion of representatives of the aggressor country that the athlete is under pressure.

Mahuchikh said this in an exclusive interview with OBOZ.UA. The world record holder in high jumping also mentioned that after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, her angry reaction to the Russians was caused by the cancellation of the country's national championship.

"God, it's such a stupid idea. It's the same thing they wrote a lot at the beginning of the war. A few days after the full-scale invasion, we were supposed to have the Ukrainian athletics championship, but of course, it was canceled. And at the same time, they were holding the Russian championship. And many Russians, when I put up a post about the war and the shelling, wrote that it was only because you don't have the Ukrainian championship and you can't compete. How can you think that? We have people being killed, we have missiles flying over our heads..." Mahuchikh said.
