"We were just kicked off. It's a shame": Putin Team founder Ovechkin complained about Russia's suspension
Famous Washington hockey player Alexander Ovechkin has complained about the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions. The founder of the Putin Team movement in support of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin called such a decision of federations and organizations the politicization of sports.
Ovechkin said this in an interview with Ukraine's traitor Tatyana Navka in the Team show on KION, Sport24 writes. He recalled the war in Ukraine with words about "this whole situation" and added that representatives of the aggressor country suffered for nothing.
"Of course, it's a shame. Some guys who dreamed of the Olympics have never made it because of this whole situation. Both the doping issue and the one that's going on now. We're just kicked off. Even if they say that sport is out of politics, it turned out to be the other way around. Of course, it's a shame for me and for the people who cheer, worry and want to see us at the Olympics. It's all about money. They don't give a damn about us," Ovechkin said.
Earlier, fans mocked the Russian national team striker for the gratitude from Putin, noting that the dictator has stigmatized him.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the former hockey player of Smolensk Slavutich Artem Gvozdik was eliminated in the Zaporizhzhia direction by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
