Miranchuk speaks out about Russian football players

Russian national footballer Alexei Miranchuk called on his young colleagues to leave the aggressor country and join European clubs. The Atlanta Falcons midfielder noted that the Russian representatives misjudge themselves by raising their level in words.

Miranchuk said this in an interview with Sport24. The 28-year-old Lokomotiv Moscow product added that Russian players are nowhere near the level of the European championships' giants, nor the salaries they receive in the national championship.

"We are used to the fact that if we play in Russian clubs, we want to go only to foreign top clubs. And we are waiting for offers from the big boys. But there are a lot of players like us in Europe. The competition is very strong. And if you want to go, you don't have to wait for Juventus and Milan. We are the ones who think we are the best. But it's not true. There are a lot of people like us. If you want to leave, don't keep in mind that some great player has to come after you," Miranchuk said.

It should be noted that the Russian staged a demarche in the US championship after his club refused to place the flag of the aggressor country in materials for matches.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, honorary president of the Russian Football Union Vyacheslav Koloskov expressed confidence that Russian representatives would be returned to international tournaments two years after the end of the war in Ukraine.
