Dynamo Kyiv players expressed their support for Azov fighters with their emotional celebration of the victory over Greek Aris in the third qualifying round of the Conference League. The players tried to draw the world's attention to the inadmissibility of insulting the defenders of Ukraine, who continue to resist Russian aggression.

Dynamo Kyiv captain Serhiy Sydorchuk made such a statement on Instagram, recalling the banner that Greek fans hung on the stadium stands during the teams' match on August 10. The experienced midfielder noted that he and his partners will continue to glorify the heroes of Ukraine.

"We often hear that we should not stoop to the level of the enemy. Sometimes it's hard to agree because of injustice. We know what we have to do. There was a high degree of emotion yesterday. My team and I did not want to circumvent the moral and athletic values of soccer with our behavior. We did not want to behave like our opponents. We want to show our Ukrainian heroes. Azov were and are the heroes we should tell the world about. We will continue to do so. It is important for the world to finally understand who is who and where the heroes are," Sydorchuk wrote.

Dynamo Kyiv won in a penalty shootout against Aris and entered the playoffs of the Conference League selection. The fans of the Greek team started chanting the name of the Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin immediately after the end of the series. Aris players scuffled with our team.

In turn, Aris coach Apostolos Terzis called the reaction of Dynamo players to provocative shouts of fans shameful.
