"We did nothing. He made it up": Russian figure skating denies Russian aggression against Ukraine

Tarasova complained to the IOC

Famous figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova has made a hypocritical statement about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. According to her, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has no right to impose sanctions against Russian representatives, as they "did nothing" to be suspended from the competition.

Tarasova made this false statement in a commentary to the propaganda outlet Sport-Express. The former figure skater called the conditions for the Russians' admission to the 2024 Olympics under a neutral flag unfair, and accused the IOC of "dishonest" attitude towards the aggressor country.

"The conditions under which our athletes will participate in the Olympics are different from others. This is unfair, dishonorable and ugly! The conditions for participation should be the same for everyone. We did nothing to prevent us from participating in the Olympics, and Bach should know that. He's not giving us a gift, we don't expect one from anyone. Why did he come up with the idea of excluding us from the Olympics? His conditions are ugly, offensive and humiliating. And our athletes have been decorating the Olympic Games for years," Tarasova said.

Earlier, Olympic champion Svetlana Zhurova accused the IOC of humiliating Russians and treating them "like second-class citizens." Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympics with the words "spawn of hell."

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner called neutral Russian athletes a "team of homeless people."
