Russian heavyweight Yevgeny Romanov (19-1, 12 KOs) sensationally lost the fight for the WBA mandatory challenger in the 101.6 kg (Bridgewater) weight class. At a boxing night in Yekaterinburg, the 38-year-old native of Volgograd lost by knockout to 28-year-old Chinese representative Zhang Zhaoxin (12-2-1, 7 KOs).
