Undefeated boxer Lomachenko wanted to fight sent to prison

American lightweight Jervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) will serve the remainder of his house arrest in jail, thebaltimorebanner.com reports. On May 6, the 28-year-old boxer was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest, three years of probation and 200 hours of community service for an accident he caused in Baltimore several years ago.

District Judge Gandy ruled to change Davis' sentence after he decided to spend the rest of his house arrest in the penthouse of his $3.4 million Four Seasons hotel in South Baltimore.

According to the verdict, Davis was to stay at the home of his long-time coach and instructor, Calvin Ford, in Baltimore for the entire sentence.

"I didn't want him in Florida because it's not a holiday," the judge said, adding that she wasn't going to let Davis "sit by the pool or hang out at the spa. He was serving time. And I was tactful enough to allow him to do that under house arrest."

The lawyer argued that Davis could not live with his father because his house had only one bedroom and no room for a guard.

On February 16, Davis, 28, pleaded guilty to four charges related to the accident. In November 2020, the athlete ran a red light in his Lamborghini Uris and crashed into a Toyota car that was moving through an intersection. Four passengers were injured in the collision.

Earlier, Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko said that he would like to fight Gervonta if he fails to achieve a rematch with absolute lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez.
