The second racket of Ukraine Marta Kostiuk together with the Romanian tennis player Elena-Gabriela Rousse achieved a difficult victory at the start of the doubles Roland Garros. In the first round, Kostiuk/Ruse beat the Russian duo Anna Blinkova / Varvara Gracheva in three sets - 6:3, 3:6, 6:2.

After a confident first set, Kostiuk/Ruse relaxed, giving the game to the Russian athletes.

In the deciding set, Marta and Elena had the advantage. They won the first five games in a row and could have won in straight sets, but lost two match points.

After the meeting, Kostiuk refused to shake hands with her rivals. The cropped video shows that as the Russians approach the net, Marta has already turned away and is walking towards the umpire to inform him.

In the second round, the Ukrainian-Romanian duo will face Kirsten Flipkens/Shelby Rogers (Belgium/USA).

It is worth noting that Kostiuk was booed by fans in the singles tournament of the French Open for not shaking hands with Belarusian Arina Sobolenko after the defeat.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Anna Blinkova is a rival of Ukrainian Elina Svitolina in the third round of Roland Garros. The tennis players will play each other in a week - in May, the Odesa woman defeated the Muscovite in the final of the WTA 250 tournament in Strasbourg.
