UEFA president says he wants to allow Russians to "avoid brainwashing children"

Russia U-17 has not yet returned to UEFA tournaments

The president of the European Football Union (UEFA), Alexander Čeferin, has called for easing sanctions against Russian teams. In particular, the Slovenian functionary proposes to lift restrictions on participation in international tournaments for youth national teams and clubs.

Čeferin himself said this in an interview with the authoritative British publication The Telegraph. The head of European football emphasized that the suspension of Russians will continue at the adult level until Russia withdraws its criminal army from the territory of our country.

At the same time, the return of Russian football players to youth and youth tournaments will allegedly "avoid brainwashing children" with hatred of the West. In addition, representatives of the Russian Federation will not be punished "for something they are not guilty of." "The world is going crazy," Cheferin summarized.

Last year, UEFA tried to get the Russian youth national team back into the European Championship qualifying tournament, but faced a stiff rebuff from various countries. More than a dozen federations announced a boycott of the match with the team from the aggressor country. After that, UEFA reversed its decision.
