The match took place on September 12

The Disciplinary Committee of the European Football Union (UEFA) has penalized the Ukrainian Football Association after a match against Italy in the 2024 European Championship qualifiers due to racist behavior by its fans. The UAF will have to pay 20,000 euros and will also be forced to close part of the stands during its next home match under the auspices of UEFA.

"The Ukrainian Football Association must inform UEFA of the number of sectors that will be closed before the match. The minimum number of seats is 5000," the decision reads.

UEFA has also decided to fine the UAF 5,000 euros for launching fireworks and 8,000 euros for blocking public places.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukraine's national football team lost to Italy in the 6th round of the European Championship qualifiers. The match at the San Siro stadium in Milan on September 12 ended with a score of 2:1.
