Kilman may be granted Ukrainian citizenship

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Max Kilman is once again being considered by the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) as a candidate for citizenship of our country. The organisation is studying the issue in detail, and the head coach of the Blue and Yellows Serhii Rebrov is not averse to seeing the 26-year-old centre-back in the national team.

Rebrov himself told about this in an interview with FanDay. According to him, Kilman is really capable of strengthening the central defensive line of the Ukrainian national team, which is now fighting for a ticket to the 2024 European Championship. The coach of our team noted that the UAF is working on inviting the main defender of the Premier League midfielder.

"I'm not a lawyer and I can't estimate how soon he will have the opportunity to play for the team. I will start considering Kilman no sooner than he receives Ukrainian football citizenship. Perhaps the UAF knows how this issue is progressing. We have many strong candidates, some of whom are already playing well in Europe. None of the coaches will give up a good player. Let's talk about Kilman after he gets his citizenship. He played for the English mini-football team," commented Rebrov.

It should be noted that Kilman was born into a family of immigrants from Ukraine. Back in 2020, he announced his desire to play for the Ukrainian national team. Last season, he played 41 matches for Wolverhampton Wanderers. Previously, naturalised players from Russia, Brazil, Serbia and Belarus have played for the Blue and Yellows. Max may become the first Englishman in the history of our team.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Ukraine's goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin may become a player of Inter Milan in the coming weeks.
