Kostiuk criticized the WTA

Famous Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostiuk has criticized international federations for admitting athletes from Russia to the competitions. The 21-year-old from Kyiv expressed her confidence that a full suspension of representatives of the aggressor country could affect their attitude to the war.

Kostiuk said this in an interview with the authoritative American publication The New York Times. Our tennis player accused the Russians of genocide of the Ukrainian people. She also urged the world "to pressure Russians wherever they are".

"Wars are brutal. But this war is on another level. The Russians don't want us to exist as a nation. They want to destroy each and every one of us. It's sickening that tennis federations allows the Russians and Belarusians to keep playing. If they were suspended, it would force them to recognize the atrocities committed by their countries. They would sit at home, watch the news and read some articles. They would have time to sit and think about what they are doing wrong that they are not allowed to compete," Marta emphasized.

Earlier, Kostiuk spoke about how the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) protects Russian and Belarusian athletes who tacitly or openly support the aggression against Ukraine.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, former Ukrainian tennis player Oleksandr Dolhopolov, who went to serve in the AFU from the first days of the full-scale invasion of Russia, warned that this will be the case with everyone who will try to destroy our country when commenting on the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
