Legendary hockey goalkeeper Dominik Hašek has supported the European Football Union's decision to return Russian junior teams to international competitions under the auspices of UEFA. The 58-year-old former athlete said on his social media that he has long considered this move by UEFA to be the right one.

"Children are not responsible for their parents. Of course, their team will be allowed to enter the country only if they condemn Russia's war and Russian crimes," Gashek said.

Earlier, Hašek visited Kharkiv and Kyiv, where he recorded a video message to Ukrainians, wishing them to "drive the Russian sh*t away." He also put Russian Vyacheslav Fetisov in his place, demanding that the Czech return all the money he earned at Spartak to Russia.

In one of his earlier interviews, Dominik admitted that he would try to get Ukraine to compensate for the advertising of Russian athletes by the NHL. Hašek said he would do everything possible to ensure that the NHL "paid billions to Ukraine."

In the comments section, Russian fans went into a real bacchanal over the Czech hockey legend's "re-shoeing".

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the Swedish and Danish national teams said they would not play with the Russians in the qualifiers for the European Youth Championship. The Scandinavians expressed their support for Ukraine, which continues to resist Russian aggression.
