The Belgian national team players refused to greet the fans after the final round of the 2024 UEFA European Championship group stage match with Ukraine (0:0). The players were subjected to unhappy boos from the fans at the end of the game and after the final whistle.
Some Red Devils players went to thank their compatriots for their support, but captain Kevin De Bruyne did not allow them to do so and sent the team to the locker room. The video was posted on the page of journalist Jean-Sebastien Gron on the social network X, formerly known as Twitter.

The media representative called the situation surreal. De Bruyne did not like the angry reaction of the fans, because the team had fulfilled the task and left the group. Its rivals in the 1/8 finals will be the French vice-champions.

We would like to remind you that in Group E, the national teams of Belgium, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine scored four points each. The first three teams made it to the playoffs, while the Blue and Yellows were the last to finish with a goal difference and left the tournament. Our players were the first to fail to qualify from the group with four points after the tournament expansion.
