Ukrainian tennis player loses the first set, but manages to get back on track

Sixth-ranked Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (#192 WTA) reached the third round of the French Open tennis tournament with a prize fund of 19.8 million euros. The 28-year-old from Odessa beat the representative of Australia Storm Hunter (#204 WTA) 2-6, 6-3, 6-1 in almost two hours as she was seven sets up.

The Ukrainian, who played in a spectacular yellow and blue outfit, started the match unsuccessfully. She couldn't find her rhythm, while her opponent kept getting more and more points. When she realized that she could not win the first set, Elina let the situation go, stopped struggling, and went into the second set full-speed.

The key moment happened in the second game at 1:2. Svitolina imposed to the Australian her trademark "pulling" tennis, where she always makes one mistake less than any opponent.

By the third set Hunter was so exhausted that she practically gave the game to our compatriot without a fight.

In the third round Elina will play against Anna Blinkova of Russia.

Recall that it was Blinkova Svitolina who beat her in the final of the WTA 250 tournament in Strasbourg on May 27.
