Surkis admires Aliyev and Vashchuk

The president of Dynamo Kyiv, Ihor Surkis, who celebrates his 65th birthday on November 22, called former teammates Oleksandr Aliyev and Vladyslav Vashchuk examples of true defenders of Ukraine among football players. He admired the fact that the club's players volunteered to join the Armed Forces after Russia's full-scale invasion.

Surkis said this in an interview with Dynamo on its official website. The functionary called on Ukrainians to unite around one goal, which is to win the criminal war that the aggressor has unleashed against our country and nation and also emphasized the importance of developing football in the future.

"Let's hope that this war will end with a 100% victory for us, and only then will we develop football. The main thing is that we have not lost it. Everyone has united, and it should be so. We have the same enemy, and everyone should help as much as they can. Former Dynamo players Aliyev and Vashchuk are doing their job, defending our country. Aliyev's interview was the words of a real man who, although having 'roots' in Russia, does not want to talk to his father. I respect this. I have watched this interview twice," Surkis said.

Earlier, Aliyev criticized Kyiv residents for their attitude to the war in Ukraine. In addition, the former Dynamo player spoke about the assistance provided by Shakhtar Donetsk defender Yaroslav Rakitskiy to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the former head coach of Dynamo Kyiv Mircea Lucescu spoke about the difficulties of working in Ukraine during the war.
