The former tennis player gave a frank interview

Famous Ukrainian tennis player Serhiy Stakhovsky has spoken about the motivation of Ukrainians who are going to serve in the country's Armed Forces. According to the 38-year-old Kyiv resident, the current conditions of service in the Armed Forces do not inspire optimism.

Stakhovsky wants the mobilized to understand the clear terms of service.

"Relatively speaking, we mobilize people and say: you study for a month and a half, fight for four months, stay at home for two months, and so on. People need to understand what they are signing up for. Because now, if you sign up, you realize that you are going one way. And you fight there until you are killed. And this is a bullshit story. It shouldn't be like that," UP quoted Serhiy as saying.

The former athlete added that people and the state should understand that we have to plan for a war for 10 years.

"If it ends in a year, great, if it ends in six months, great. But we must be prepared for it to be long," the former athlete said.

As reported by us, on January 17, Stakhovsky expressed the opinion that Ukrainian athletes would do more good for the country by competing in international tournaments than by fighting in the trenches.

Earlier, Stakhovsky, who joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, advised those compatriots who believe that the front is far away to prepare for war.

In addition, Serhiy expressed confidence that Russia would strike with a nuclear bomb, and he said where.
