Spartak legionnaire sentenced to 6 years in prison in the Netherlands: Russia responds by declaring war against the whole of Europe

Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes was found guilty of drug smuggling and sentenced to six years in prison. The Dutch court found that the former national team player (50 matches) was involved in the transportation of prohibited substances weighing a total of 1362 kg.

Russia, which traditionally protects criminals, does not intend to extradite Promes to the Dutch justice system. Famous coach Gadzhi Gadzhiev, hiding behind the criminal war against Ukraine, noted that the case itself is questionable, and the player should continue to play for Spartak.

"I don't think that Russia, in the situation it is in now, will expel Quincy Promes from the country. Russia is waging a special military operation (as Russia shamefully calls its aggression against Ukraine - ed.) The whole of Europe is there. The Dutch are among them. I don't think our government will extradite him. The image story for Spartak would have been bad if it had happened before the war. Now, given the attitudes of many European countries towards us, Russia cannot have mutual understanding with a country where Promes was convicted," Gadzhiev told Metaratings.

It should be noted that earlier Promes was found guilty of a knife attack on one of his relatives, and sentenced to a year and a half in prison. After the opening of the criminal case, the footballer fled to Russia, which he had left three years earlier.
