Spanish coach refused to come to Ukraine, scared by missile attacks

Spanish coach Gonzalo Garcia-Garcia has refused to head Dnipro-1. According to the commercial director of Dnipro Viacheslav Fridman, the 39-year-old specialist was frightened by the war in Ukraine.

Garcia-Garcia left Istra 1961 at the end of last season, with which he finished fifth in the Croatian championship (76 matches: 21 wins, 33 losses). He also played in the Dutch Twente (28 = +8 / -14). Before that, he worked as an assistant head coach at Esbjerg.

"It's just that all these people are scared to come here. The recent hits in Dnipro, which destroyed the bus station, crossed everything. Before that, the SSU building was hit, and this is the center of the city", Ukrainian Football quotes Fridman.

The building of the bus station in Dnipro was significantly damaged by shelling. Dozens of other objects located near the building were also damaged, trade pavilions in particular.

The head coach of Dnipro-1 Oleksandr Kucher resigned on August 20. Oleksiy Horodov was temporarily appointed in his place.
