State Duma deputy was ridiculed in the comments

State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova said that Russia has "re-educated" Bosnia and Herzegovina football player Miralem Pjanić. The 32-year-old midfielder signed a contract with CSKA Moscow as a free agent the day before.

After signing the contract, the Bosnian apologized for his words about Russia. The four-time Italian champion with Juventus and Champions League finalist spoke out against the match between the national teams of Russia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in early September 2022.

"I wish Pjanić didn't have to apologize to the Europeans after CSKA because it will be the fans who will ask questions. And what will he answer? 'I was offered a good deal? Let's see what they write about him now. I think he will be criticized more harshly in Europe than in Russia. We always forgive everything. And it's so good that our country has re-educated the man and now he is on our side," RB Sport quoted Zhurova as saying.

In the comments, Russian fans ridiculed their compatriot's words.

"Hahaha. I am not sure these are the words of a sane person. Our country has re-educated a man just in one day, that is hell of progress. It seems that they brought in not a football player but a victim of 'European propaganda' who 'saw the light' as soon as he signed the contract. It seems that CSKA will not pay him most of his salary, but our government will," users write.

Users doubted Zhurova's intelligence after her statement.
