Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matitsyn said that sports sanctions helped Russia realize its resources. During the gala evening of the Russian Union of Athletes in Moscow, the official noted the greatness of the country, not missing the opportunity to humiliate Putin.

"As you know, our president is the most athletic. We have to justify his trust because sport has always been at the forefront.
