The decision of the Executive Committee of the International Fencing Federation (FIE) to cancel the disqualification of Ukrainian saber fencer Olja Kharlan and allow her to participate in the team tournament at the World Championships-2023 in Milan caused a real hysteria among Russian fans. Russian patriots were destroyed by the level of anger and envy.

Sensational move by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to give Kharlan a personal quota for the 2024 Olympics was detrimental.

The representative of the Russian Federation filed a protest against the result of the duel, which was then rejected. The propaganda channel Match TV published a photo of the appeal that Anna Smirnova wrote on Olha. As a result, the FIE disqualified Kharlan from the World Cup-2023.
