Ukrainian fencer Olha Kharlan has infuriated Russian propagandists after she refused to shake hands with Anna Smirnova at the 2023 World Championships in Milan. So-called journalists from the aggressor country started writing insulting articles about our compatriot en masse.

New fakes concerning Olha appeared as well. The Russian news agency RIA Novosti published the alleged cover of the new issue (dated August 2) of the scandalous French publication Charlie Hebdo with an insulting caricature of Khrlan on July, 29. "A real pride of her country," the propagandists signed the fake.

In fact, the cover of the August 2 issue of Charlie Hebdo is dedicated to French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin. This can be seen both on the publication's website and on its social media pages.

Interestingly, after the lie was uncovered, RIA Novosti changed its original message in its Telegram channel, writing about "the possible cover of the August issue of the scandalous Charlie Hebdo magazine."

Earlier, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) lambasted Match TV propagandists who questioned whether Olha Kharlan was actually allowed to compete in the 2024 Olympics after her World Cup disqualification.
