Russian Olympic vice-champion complained that in figure skating there is no "real regret" from Russia's exclusion

Ilya Averbukh, vice-champion of the 2002 Olympic Games, complained that the International Skating Union (ISU) is not upset that Russian athletes are not taking part in its competitions. He also called it a mistake to extend the suspension of representatives of the aggressor country.

Averbukh said this in a commentary for the propaganda TV channel "Match TV. He added that the absence of Russian skaters at the most prestigious tournaments allegedly harms the sport, and in addition, the ISU has significantly reduced income.

"I am very upset by this decision, it is absolutely opportunistic and wrong, and will definitely affect the development of world figure skating. Without competition there can be no growth, and Russian skaters are the headliners of world skating. Everything that was said in the communiqué about the decrease in income is nothing but siphoning off money with reference to the lack of Russians. As we can see, there is no real regret that our athletes are not performing," said Averbukh.

Earlier, the famous Russian coach Tatiana Tarasova threw a tantrum over the suspension of figure skaters from Russia, calling it criminal.
