Russian Olympic team refused to train in Crimea and gave an "unexpected" explanation

The Russian Olympic cross-country skiing team, coached by Yuri Borodavko, has moved its training camp from Crimea to Kislovodsk. In an interview with TASS, Borodavko explained his decision by the "difficult situation in the region".

"The May training camp will take place on the same dates (15-31 May), but not in Crimea, but in Kislovodsk. All the athletes who are part of my group should come to the training camp," the coach said.

Borodavka's group includes three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov, Beijing 2022 gold medallist Natalia Nepryaeva, 2021 world vice-champion Ivan Yakimushkin, 2022 Olympic bronze medallist Alexander Terentyev, and 2022 Olympic champion Denis Spitsov.

Russian fans are sarcastically wondering what the reason for the postponement was.

It should be noted that Nepryaeva is currently on holiday in Dubai, from where she wrote a post about her "full of sh*t" compatriots.
