Russian Olympic champion complained about the international federation that forces Russians to "say your country is bad"

Two-time Olympic champion Yevgeny Rylov has taken umbrage at the conditions for Russians to be allowed to compete, as presented by the International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics). The 26-year-old athlete, who participated in the Z-rally in Luzhniki on March 18 last year, accused the organization of forcing the representatives of the Russian Federation to "say that your country is bad."

Rylov said this in an interview with the propaganda channel Match TV. He opposed the fact that Russians perform at international tournaments without the national flag and anthem, as it is discrimination and infringement of the rights of representatives of the aggressor country.

"In any case, I am waiting for this situation to be finalized. Signing the declaration means saying your country is bad. We are waiting to see what will happen next. There are criteria and recommendations, but no one knows how this situation will develop. For now we are preparing for our competitions, which will be held in Russia. I believe that we should only compete if we are fully restored in all our rights, otherwise we will remain neutral athletes for the rest of our lives," Rylov said.

World Aquatics has approved the criteria for neutral status, but only in individual events and a maximum of one athlete per course.

In addition, the IOC banned athletes from Russia and Belarus to participate in the Asian Games-2023, which athletes were going to use to qualify for the Olympic Games-2024.
