Russian Olympic champion and participant of Z-rally called tournaments without Russians "deliberately unfair"

Sinitsina criticized the IOC

Victoria Sinitsina, the champion of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, has declared international competitions without Russian athletes to be incomplete. The figure skater noted that she is not interested in following such tournaments, as she can not cheer for the representatives of the Russian Federation.

Sinitsina, who took gold in the team event at the Olympic Games, said this in an interview with Argumenty i Fakty. The Russian expressed confidence that foreign athletes allegedly cannot experience true emotions from victories "when the main competitors are absent".

"Of course, if Russians participated in these tournaments, they would be much more interesting for us. Now the tournaments look as if they are deliberately unfair. After all, when the main competitors are absent, the emotions from victories and defeats feel quite differently," Sinitsina said.

On Monday, September 4, the president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach criticized Ukraine and announced the conditions for Russia's admission to the 2024 Games in Paris. In turn, two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Sautin called the demand to condemn the war in Ukraine a "quiet horror" that "someone came up with."

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the IOC banned athletes from Russia and Belarus from participating in the 2023 Asian Games, which athletes were going to use to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games.
