The player addressed his claims to the team's management

Russian midfielder "Atlanta" Alexei Miranchuk and his lawyers demanded from the American club to publish lineups without nationalities, reports insider Ivan Karpov. According to him, the 28-year-old Russian national team player did not like the fact that there was no Russian flag next to his photo.

The Russian midfielder was the only one whose flag was not indicated in social networks when publishing the lineup for the match.

However, before the game with Inter Miami (2:2), Atlanta social networks posted a photo where none of the players had the flag of his country.

"Alexei did not like that the club displays the nationality of each player, and under the surname of the Russian leaves a blank space instead of the tricolor. The side of the Russian national team player asked Atlanta to announce the squad in a uniform style. Because the absence of the flag under Miranchuk looked like discrimination on nationality and affected the interests of the player.

The American club's management agreed with the midfielder and explained that the publication of the lineup without the Russian tricolor is an amateur activity of the lower-level staff, such as a designer or SMM-man, not the directors. And when Mira pointed out the problem, it was instantly fixed," Karpov wrote.

It should be noted that earlier with Miranchuk in the Italian Atalanta played the leader of the national team of Ukraine Ruslan Malinovsky. Head coach of the team Gianpiero Gasperini, commenting on the situation with the war in Ukraine, said the Ukrainian has no problems with his Russian partner. Both players are of the opinion that people's lives are more important than the borders of countries and their national flags.
