Famous Russian hockey player Rodion Amirov died in his 22nd year of life from brain cancer, the player's agent Dan Milstein said in X. The tumor in the pupil of Ufa hockey was detected in February 2022.

The exacerbation of the disease happened in October 2022. After that the athlete lost his vision and the ability to move independently.

 

Amirov set a record at the Finnish leg of the Euro Tour in the 2021 season, becoming the first Russian in history to score in three consecutive opening games.

The Russian was selected by Toronto at No. 15 in the 2020 draft. The National Hockey League club sent Amirov on loan to Salavat Yulaev. The forward played 79 games for Ufa in the KHL, scoring 18 points (10 pucks and 8 assists).
