Russia admitted that UEFA does not discriminate their country

The sanctions against Russia by the European Football Union (UEFA) following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine are not discriminatory. At the same time, the aggressor country and UEFA continue to cooperate in programs related to children's and youth sports.

This was stated by the President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov in a commentary to the RIA Novosti propaganda news agency. The official noted that Russia receives the same funds from UEFA as other national associations for educational and infrastructure projects.

"We continue to cooperate with UEFA, they help us with many projects, both educational and infrastructure. We receive money from the HatTrick program, which we use to implement various projects. We will use some funds to implement a school football league project. I won't tell you the exact amount, but we receive the same amount as other associations. There is no discrimination there. Every year, UEFA increases the amount of deductions that go to the development of grassroots football," Dyukov said.

Earlier it became known that the minimum losses of Russian football clubs associated with the suspension from the European Cups in the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons amounted to at least 84.5 million euros.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, UEFA President Alexander Čeferin said that Russian teams will not return to international football tournaments until the occupiers leave the territory of Ukraine.
