"Quiet horror". The new uniform of the Russian national football team caused ridicule online

The new uniforms of the Russian national football team confused local fans. Fans did not like the font and design of the outfit, which was developed by the Russian brand Jogel.

"The home kit, made in traditional red colors, is dedicated to the Firebird, which embodies the sun - the source of life, fertility and a symbol of justice. The jersey features a pattern in the form of stylized shining feathers of a magnificent bird, which, adorning the chest, symbolizes the players' ardent hearts," the description says.

The Russian Football Union stated that the design of the new uniforms was inspired by "one of the most colorful genres of Russian folklore - fairy tales."

According to the concept, its elements supposedly symbolize the passion with which football players fight on the field, as well as "a cold mind and a tempered character, emphasizing the scale of the country."

The network did not appreciate this "beauty" and bombarded the authors with critical comments.

"Bottom," "Designer dudes could have done better," "Nightmare," "Well, that's just it," "Passable," "The shape is okay, but the numbers are a quiet horror," Russians wrote.

Users also criticized the pretentiousness of the presentation of the outfit.

Before the new kits were unveiled, they showed historical videos from various tournaments in which the USSR and then Russia played. Actor Anvar Khalilulaev appeared on stage as Nikita Simonian, followed by Lev Yashin.

The Russian national team will play its first matches in the new uniform on March 21 and 25 against Serbia and Paraguay.
