Playboy model who dated famous footballer dies from a butt lift

The girl was 38 years old

Former Playboy model Tabby Brown died after complications from a Brazilian butt lift. The tragedy happened a year ago, but only recently the results of the investigation were published. The 38-year-old British woman died a few days after arriving from the Dominican Republic, where she underwent a liposuction procedure.

Details of death

After returning from abroad, Tabby began to complain of weakness and malaise. Her mother assumed that this was the result of a viral infection that she might have picked up while traveling. The model herself did not tell her mother that she had undergone plastic surgery.

On October 13, at night, her mother found Tabby unconscious in their home in south London. The doctors who were called pronounced her dead on the spot. An examination of her body revealed two puncture wounds in the pelvic area, indicating recent surgery.

Results of the investigation

According to coroner Julian Morris, the autopsy revealed that Tabby died of a fat embolism, a condition in which fat particles enter the bloodstream and block it.

Cosmetic surgery expert Oliver Harley confirmed that the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) that Tabby underwent was associated with an increased risk of fat embolism.

The coroner noted that:

  • Tabby was physically healthy before the surgery.
  • Her death was a direct result of the cosmetic procedure.
  • Fat emboli are rare but known complications of liposuction.

Warning about the dangers of cosmetic surgery abroad

In the Dominican Republic, where Tabby went, cosmetic surgery is much cheaper than in the UK. However, medical journals report an increase in the number of deaths related to plastic procedures in this region. In the last decade alone, about 100 people have died there, many of them in the first 72 hours after surgery.
